Jason St Louis has worked for IMAX in partnership with the Royal BC Museum since 2000. He operated the IMAX 1570 GT film projection system until 2017 when digitization of the industry introduced the state-of-the-art IMAX Laser projection system. The new system using 4K lasers and proprietary Kodak patents has transformed the movie going experience. Operating one of only 60 IMAX GT Laser systems in the world, Jason has been recognized as a lead technician in the industry. Winner of two IMAX Maximum Image Awards for technical merit in 2008 and 2019, he strives to maintain presentation excellence in day-to-day operations. He has worked with various film producers, sound engineers, and directors as a technical and creative consultant. Postproduction credits include work on Great Bear Rainforest and Saving Luna. He’s looking forward to working with more BC filmmakers using the Giant Screen medium to educate and inspire.
