Stuart Hill

Archivist

Stuart was hired as an Archivist with the BC Archives in 2023. His education includes a BA in Greek and Roman Studies from the University of Victoria and an MA in Classical Archaeology from the University of British Columbia. He has participated archaeological field schools in Ghana and in Greece.

After his deep-dive into Classical Studies, he earned a dual Masters of Library and Information Studies and Masters of Archival Studies from the University of British Columbia. Stuart has worked in several positions as a librarian or archivist, notably at the University of British Columbia Library Digitization Centre and most recently as a government records archivist at the Ministry of Citizens’ Services.

Stuart’s areas of focus at BC Archives include: arrangement and description, appraisal, and reference.
