Gail MacLean-Pollock

Acting Head of Human Resources and Volunteer Services

Gail MacLean-Pollock comes to the Royal BC Museum with 28 years of human resources experience, has worked in nine ministries, including the ministries of Aboriginal Reconciliations, Environment, Lands and Parks and Attorney General, as well as in a central agency . A member of the Executive team, Gail leads the Human Resources and Volunteer Services department, which provides internal and external services to staff, volunteers and visitors. The Royal BC Museum employs 120 staff and engages over 500 volunteers—all of whom receive services from the Human Resources and Volunteer Services team.

Services provided by this department focus on the management of all strategic, advisory and transactional HR services for the Royal BC Museum, as well as strategic volunteer services and program management. Along with Gail’s education and training in human resource management, she has diplomas in business and in photography, and she is currently working towards Conflict Resolution and Conflict Coaching certificates from the Justice Institute of British Columbia. Gail and her team are passionate about contributing to a culture that embraces excellence and innovation.
