Erika Stenson

A/Vice President Museum Operations

Erika Stenson joined the museum in 2010. She has over 20-years of experience in providing vision and leadership in organizational development, community relations, international marketing, operations, government relations and business development in both the private and public sectors. In her career, she has proven successful in delivering on the strategic alignment of business against organizational goals and objectives and has provided direction and advice on strategy, planning and implementation to clients and partners in many sectors.

As Vice President of Museum Operations, Erika holds responsibility for a varied portfolio including IMAX Victoria, marketing, communications, publishing, business development, museum operations and corporate services.

Education

Erika is an alumna of Harvard Business School, a Communications and Advertising Accredited Professional, and has a diploma in applied communications. Erika sits on the Board of Tourism Victoria, is a vice chair and chair of the Sales and Marketing committee and past chair of the finance committee, and is the current chair of Destination BC’s Tourism Marketing Committee. She is a past executive member of BC Museums Association, having chaired the Finance committee. She was on the 2015/16 Canadian Museums Association Awards Jury. She is a past board for Big Brothers Big Sisters Victoria, was a member of University of Victoria’s Congress of the Humanities 2013 Community Partnerships committee, and a Royal BC Museum representative on the marketing committee of the National Association of Natural History Museums.
