Claire Gilbert

Archivist and Librarian

Claire Gilbert joined the Royal BC Museum in 2001, and holds a BA (Hons) in history and a master’s in library and information studies. She completed a graduate certificate in values-based leadership at Royal Roads University in 2013.

Claire has contributed four articles to The BC Almanac Book of Greatest British Columbians by Mark Forsythe (Harbour Publishing, 2005) and contributed content for 15 pieces in Free Spirit: Stories of You, Me and BC by Gerry Truscott (Royal BC Museum Publishing, 2009) and the content of the Royal BC Museum's submissions in Great Canadian Masters: celebrating 150 years of Canada's creative excellence with recipes by innovative Canadian chefs inspired by paintings from Canadian museums and galleries, volumes 1 and 2 (Canadian Museums Association, 2016; 2017).

Supervising learning opportunities for graduate students through internship and co-op work placements

Processing of private records, including textual, graphic, sound, moving image and cartographic records
